The Living God Calls To Repentance But Instead There Is Gladness
I know when the topic of demon activity arises, it creates images of the girl possessed by a demon in the movie of “Exorcist.” In reality, demon activity is much more than crazed violence. Demonic behavior strategically opposes God’s plan of redemption for humanity through what His Son did for us on the Cross. They are Satan’s tool to kill, steal, and destroy! Demons work as a team together, they will come out to meet those who abide in Christ Jesus, they will chat with you, they are violent, they attack God’s creation, they seem to respect the Living God and Jesus Christ, they accuse the righteous of wickedness, and they are subject to comply to the commands of the Living God. All of this is told to us in two Bible verses, Matthew 8:28-29. It was the demons who were tormenting people but they accused Jesus Christ as being the tormenter instead of being the righteous judge. This relates to today’s scripture text because “For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,” While the world was about to be destroyed due to the overwhelming demonic wickedness of that day, these people were going about their daily lives as if everything were normal! Noah and his family must have shuttered at the pomposity and arrogance of the demons who were enjoying the depravity of humanity.
Like in the days of Noah, the One True God calls Israel to repentance, “And in that day did the Lord God of hosts call to weeping, and to mourning, and to baldness, and to girding with sackcloth:” While the Spirit of the Living God will never destroy the earth with a flood again, as signified by the rainbow, He does expect us to accept what Jesus Christ did for us on the Cross for the remission of sin and the infilling of the Holy Spirit. As the modern god of knowledge makes war with the spirit and soul, there is a war on faith in the Living God, the oppression of the Message of the Cross of Christ, and opposition to the presence of the Holy Spirit. Demonic activity is rampant with destruction, violence, and death. The demons will even approach those who abide in Christ Jesus to accuse them of being tormenters of humanity through intolerance, bigotry, and hostile to the existence of those who are different. Demons work as a team to usher in globalism to give rise to the anti-Christ through the 666. In the name of Jesus Christ, by the Spirit of Christ living in us, demons have to flee! Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord.
Israel’s response to the call for repentance was just about the same as the response of the demonic population in the days of Noah! Instead of repentance, they went about their lives as if all were normal. Instead of mourning for the demonic activity within their population there was “…joy and gladness, slaying oxen, and killing sheep, eating flesh, and drinking wine: let us eat and drink; for to morrow we will die.” Tomorrow we do not die! That is a lie of Satan, and demons go around like cute gremlins to make sure we believe that lie, to get our focus on the destructive pleasures of this world, and to make us think that we know the difference between good and evil. The fact is, life is eternal
where we either have eternal life in the New Jerusalem, or we have eternal life in the Lake of Fire! Please, accept what Jesus Christ has done for you on the Cross for the remission of sin and the infilling of the Holy Spirit. Demons will approach you to divert you from God’s plan of redemption, but be strong and abide in Christ, refuse the 666 and refuse to submit to the godlessness of the god of knowledge.
We know that as demonic activity rises, those who follow the way of the Cross of Jesus Christ will be in the minority. The majority will refuse to let anyone pass by the way of the Cross, and that develops into persecution and tribulation for those abiding in the Spirit of Christ. “…two men who were demon-possessed met Him as they were coming out of the tombs. They were so extremely violent that no one could pass by that way.” Only in the presence of Christ Jesus are demons cast out. Demonic activity is only given life through the sin that exists in our spirit and soul! Christ Jesus cast out demons by putting our sin into remission. By giving the Word of God dominion over our spirit and soul, then Satan, all of his demons, and spiritual wickedness loses dominion over us. If we are going to eat drink and be merry because tomorrow we die, then let us eat and drink of the Water and Bread of Life and be merry because we do not fear those who can kill the body but we fear Him who has power over the eternal destiny of the soul!
