The Foot Will Tread It Down, Even The Feet Of The Poor

en we think of the poor and needy, there are those who are spiritually poor and needy and those who are materially poor and needy. The spiritually poor and needy will bring down a great city or nation for obvious reasons. These are people who reject the qualities of the Holy Spirit and engage in all sorts of destructive behavior. They have drug addictions, are involved in human trafficking, they murder, commit crimes, rape, steal, and are destructive in so many different ways. The materially poor and needy are neglected by the “lofty” ones who are in powerful positions of government decision-making. When compassion flees the heart, then hardness and cruelty sets in which ultimately destroys those on high, the lofty city. “But I am poor and needy: make haste unto me, O God: thou art my help and my deliverer; O LORD, make no tarrying.”  Psalms 70:5

There is only one way to restore the spirit and soul to prosperity, and that is to accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. That is what He died on the Cross to do! There is only one way to restore compassion for the materially needy and poor, and that is to accept what Jesus Christ did for us on the Cross. However sinful we had been in the past, Christ Jesus can make us white as wool. “Come now, and let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool” Isaiah 1:18

While the world denies faith in God, let us enrich our soul by proclaiming God’s plan of redemption. While the world suppresses the Message of the Cross, let us tell everyone what Jesus Christ has done for us on the Cross. While the world shuns the presence of the Holy Spirit, let our spirit and soul prosper in the Spirit of Christ and prosper in the Fruit of the Spirit.

Scripture Text
“For He brings down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, He layeth it low; He layeth it low, even to the ground; He bringeth it even to the dust. The foot shall tread it down, even the feet of the poor, and the steps of the needy.”       Isaiah 26:5-6 (KJV)
