Isaiah Speaks of Stammering Lips and Another Tongue
In the Book of Isaiah it is written; “For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.” All through the Book of Acts, the talking with other tongues is directedly associated with the infilling of the Holy Spirit. On the other hand, when it comes to God’s plan of redeeming the human spirit to His Spirit, love is far more important than speaking in any other tongue. As it is written, “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.” 1 Corinthians 13:1 Many translations refer to “stammering lips and another tongue” as baby talk, or a language from foreign earthly kingdoms. In the New World Order, any event related to faith in God, the reborn experience through Jesus Christ, or the Holy Spirit-filled life will be rewritten into secular and ungodly meanings. Yet, it is written again, “Therefore if the whole church assembles together and all speak in tongues, and ungifted men or unbelievers enter, will they not say that you are mad? But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an ungifted man enters, he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all; the secrets of his heart are disclosed; and so he will fall on his face and worship God, declaring that God is certainly among you.” 1 Corinthians 14:23-25
“This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.” The Spirit of Christ opens to us a whole new world! That world frees us from the turmoil, cares, and trappings within the kingdom of this world. People need to understand that message, in clear and easy to grasp language. The Apostle Paul lived His life to bring rest to the weary and to bring refreshing, and this is what the says; “And when I came to you, brethren, I did not come with superiority of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of God. For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified. I was with you in weakness and in fear and in much trembling, and my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith would not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 2:1-5
The most important part about the infilling of the Holy Spirit is that we speak new words to mirror our transformation through what Jesus Christ did for us on the Cross. Our desire should be to speak of God’s redeeming plan for humanity, to speak of what Jesus Christ has done for us on the Cross, and to speak through the fruit of the Holy Spirit that fills our soul and spirit. With sin in remission, we no longer speak with a tongue filled with the spirit of this world, but we speak with a new tongue filled with the Spirit of Christ. The most powerful sign of God’s presence in us is His Love. “No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.” 1 John 4:12 Let us be full of God’s Word and let it flow from our new tongue. Let the word of the Lord be to us precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

Isaiah 28:11-13
