Homosexual Mayor and Husband Fall Hard By the Nature of Sin

he newspaper headline says, "Ohio mayor, husband arrested for fighting after Cincinnati Pride Festival." This is an homosexual couple. It goes on to say, "A brawl between the Elmwood Place mayor and the village's maintenance supervisor, who happens to be the mayor's husband, sent them both to jail." Click here for full story. If somebody needed a clear view of the sin nature, it is evident in this episode. Here is a list of their violations; drunkenness, brawling, domestic violence, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and obstructing justice. The sin of homosexuality was not a violation.

The Pride festival was certainly not an environment contributing to their spirituality. The alcohol polluted their thoughts and emotions to rob them of spiritual blossoms. The conflict, anger, and frustration towards each other robbed them of the spirit of peace. Their intolerant and unaccepting attitude not only caused domestic violence, but also unsettled the community. It is obvious that God is not the most valuable thing to them, and the Cross of Christ is not a part of their decision making process. It's as if they have no self-respect, nor respect for others, but yet they govern over a City. They identify themselves with modern ideologies, which their behaviors and words reflect.

They tell us that the answer to a more tolerant and peaceful society is acceptance of homosexuality, and that belief in God must take second place to their tolerant society. Obviously, acceptance of the homosexual movement is not salvation for our society and is not the pathway to world peace. The remission of the sin nature is the only path to bring God's peace into humanity. Christ shed His blood on the Cross to bring the remission of sins and to bring us into a right relationship to God by the cleansing of the Spirit. God's love, patience, self-control, and perseverance will always be the Spirit of God towards sinners. When will we learn that we need to accept what Christ has done for us on the Cross, and not to buy into modern ideologies.

"Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it sees Him not, neither knows Him: but you know Him; for He dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you."
John 14:17-18
