Favor Is Shown To The Wicked, Yet They Will Not Learn Righteousness

Testimonies were once a common practice within the Church. A person would stand up amidst the congregation and explain the change of heart that was experienced towards life. Generally, many people would know the person within the Church and could verify the change in lifestyle. Adding to that, many in the community knew how the person’s habits and way of life caused the person to change social circles and “watering holes.” It was obvious that people were been shown favor by the Spirit of the Lord. Their self-destructive behavior turned into respecting their body as the Temple of God’s Spirit; and their destructive attitude towards others became gentler and more compassionate. Vices and addictions of all types were broken to bring freedom in the spirit and soul. The transformation happened because someone believed in what Jesus Christ did for them on the Cross! “For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:10

In today’s political climate, the spirit of the anti-Christ is prevailing against the Saints, just as the Bible said would happen. “I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;” Daniel 7:21 Many people are under some type of spell against hearing the possibility of changes in the mind, spirit and soul brought on by the Spirit of Christ. In fact, faith in God is ridiculed, the Message of the Cross of Jesus Christ is no longer preached in the Church, and there is opposition to the life-changing presence of the Holy Spirit. Even in this environment, favor is shown to the unbelievers, but they will not learn the ways of the Spirit of Christ! In today’s scripture text it is written, “Let favor be shewed to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness: in the land of uprightness will he deal unjustly, and will not behold the majesty of the Lord. Isaiah 26:10 God promises us that He loves the world so much that He sent His only Son so that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.

“Lord, when thy hand is lifted up, they will not see: but they shall see, and be ashamed for their envy at the people; yea, the fire of thine enemies shall devour them.” When Jesus Christ returns, He will lift up His hand, like a student raising his hand in class waiting to be heard, but never called upon to participate. They fail to see the hand of the Master that is raised up at the Cross. But, a day is coming when they will see His hand, they will see His participation, and that day will definitely be at His return! Like the Book of Revelation describes the melting of the elements with fervent heat, the enemies of God will be devoured by the fire. The shame of the wicked will be upon all those who refuse to hear and to se the testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ. “For it is written, As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.”  Romans 14:11
